The first “Horrible Bosses” was a lot better than i thought it would be. It had a relatable set up (people wanting to get rid of their bosses) and the mid-movie twist took the movie in an interesting direction. It was a good story well told and that was all it needed to be. This sequel, looks like it is going to be more in line with “The Hangover 2” or “Bioshock 2”: additions to the story that no one wants and that are completely unneeded.
The apex of my uninterested was with the Jamie Foxx cameo. Why would they go back to him for help when literally the point of his character was that he was a fraud? Then it hit me: he’s in the movie because he was in the last one. The same with Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston. They are here to remind you that the last movie exists and was pretty good. And when the main part of a movies marketing is “wasn’t the last one good?” instead of “look how good this one will be”, i can’t see how the movie couldn’t be in trouble.
