Terminator: Genisys Trailer and Impressions

My Thoughts:

i am in the camp of people who found “Terminator: Salvation” pretty much okay. Was it great? No. Did it live up to the Terminator name? Hell no. Was it as bad as Terminator 3? Thankfully not. It was an ultimately forgettable movie, but i found it enjoyable enough while watching it. So now we come to a tipping point: after two classics and two duds,”Terminator: Genisys” can solidify what the Terminator name means to non-fans.

At first the idea of recasting Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator and having the series come back full circle wasn’t doing it for me. I didn’t want a remake of Terminator, i want the creative team to get off their ass and make a movie that is worth watching again. And then the trailer surprised me. It seems like all the time travel in the first three movies has messed with the time line, making this potential remake into an actual evolution of the formula. So conceptually i’m on bored. Again i’m forced to play the waiting game. We all know just how bad this can be, but there is enough here to get me interested that i can’t say i’ve lost all faith.
